Yay! Debbie found the water leak. We decided to do a fill-test as it seems like that is when we had so much water in the bilge, from the last time we put water in the boat. And sure enough, the test showed where the water was coming from. It was coming from the water tank breather type hose - just not the one attached to the top of the tank.
November 2011 - Chip & Debbie 💑 Currently in Marina Cortez ⛵ in San Diego, SoCal The previous owner had installed a freshwater flush for the Perkins engine. We dismantled it when we removed the engine. Actually, we disconnected it when we replaced the impeller. Then further removed it when the engine came out.
There is a black hose that is going through the bulkhead and out of the engine room. You see it in the picture. Then there is a picture of Debbie working in the bilge and to the right you see the hose. We pulled it back into the engine room and it is wire tied to the top forward starboard part of the engine room in the corner.
That is where the water was coming from and was going down to the section where I said the water was coming from. Only it was coming from above from the hose. We just never thought about that hose.

After Debbie found it we put a wood plug in it and all is well. Back to the engine room cleanup!
