Original bilge pump Model 6600j-Series now 36600 - Pulsation Damper - 2020

We may take a chance on not removing it and hope the “Pulsation Damper” here is OK if the cover will not come off. September 2020 - We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)

The original Jabsco bilge pump (Model 6600j-Series now 36600) leaked when it did work and then it stopped working altogether. We found the reason why it was the bearings in the belt system we mentioned in a previous post. Now we found the leak. It would seem it is the “Small Pulsation Dampener” and we will replace it. You can see how it is all messed up in the pictures.
There is also a ”Pulsation Damper”  under the cover with the rusted screws holding it on. We got out the rest of the screws bot for those few. At the boat we have a impact screw drive and we will try that. It may work on the outside screws but the middle one has not much of a head on it. Hmmm, that one will be a problem. We contacted Jabsco support to see if this really needs to come off.
Our Model 6600j Jabsco pump is 9.9 amp and is 8 gal a min.

We will order new “Valve Set (inlet and outlet)” as you can see these are suspect. We will save them in case they are still good for spares.
We resolved the issue of the hose barbs coming out of the pump as the weather or not they are ¾ ot ½ inch. They are in fact ¾. We also found some hose in the boat garage stuff that we must have bought previously. I can remember buying it for the out flow. Just not quite sure how long it is whether it will make it.

  1. A pulsation dampener is a device that can reduce or eliminate the intermittent gaps left in a pressurized system at the time of system's
discharge stroke. It has various advantage in industry.
