Test insulation fasteners depth in wood - 2011

In preparation for doing the engine room insulation we did some testing with a couple of screws and a washer we bought.
January 2011  - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

The washer is a little big for the screw so that needs correcting. We like the screw but it may be too big in size but the length of 1 ½ inches seems right.
They may have these already figured at Marine Exchange as they sell the insulation and it is fairly common thing to do. We have seen a sample on the wall.

There is no way we are going to buy these from WM or probably even ME as the prices are just too high for the SS screws. When we re-built the hatches we got all new screws at the fastener shop. At 20 large SS screws a hatch it would have been a fortune at the chandlery. The chandlery is OK for ones or twosies even five or so but not large amounts.
We think maybe 50 or even 75. We can calculate the amount better later.
