New tires and tubes for DaNard Dinghy Wheels - 2020

These are Truper tires and tubes. Easy to get in Mexico as Truper is very popular here.

It is time again for the settee covers to be washed - 2020

Our settee cushions are covered with Sunbrella linen fabric. We wash them about twice a year and they come out great - even after all these years! We remove the covers, machine wash in cold water after a cycle of soaking and hung out to dry.

Replaced Beta relay ground wire with a bigger wire and new location - 2020

This little sucker will stop this Beta 38 hp diesel motor in it's tracks if it breaks! It broke once at the Ixtapa fuel dock on way back to Zihuatanejo this year 2020. We found the wire was broken at the terminal end and fixed it and went on our way. Lucky it was not in or out of the Ixtapa marina channel! We had gone there to leave the boat for a few day inland trip to the guitar factories.

Whale Gulper IC Diaphragm Bilge Pump needs a new sensor - 2020

This sensor\strainer fits in the end of the hose that goes to the bilge. Hose not shown.
The sensor on our Whale Gulper IC Diaphragm Bilge Pump is not working. We tested the switch and it is OK. So we pulled out the hose from the bilge with the sensor\strainer on the end. Then we cleaned it all up and tested it again in a bucket of water. No go.

Major blister - haul out soon! - 2020

A blister on the side of our keel\bottom.
We have an encapsulated keel (it is part of the boat) and this is a bit deep for a blister.
It is time for a major bottom job but we may need to put it off?.

Companionway door lock fixed at the locksmith - 2020

We had Israel varnish our companionway doors so when he did that, he removed the lock and it fell apart. So we had to take it to a lock smith to have them resemble it.  We went to Bucerias where this shop we like is. They did a nice job putting it back together to fit our key.

Remarking the anchor chain (again) and adding a bridle marker - 2020

This is the same system as before only last time we got off mark and several came out wrong so this is a redo with same added markers and a different color paint etc.

Boat cover progress being made - 2020

Here we have the new forward pieces being fit. This is Stamoid fabric which is guaranteed like Sunbrella and the Stamoid keeps out 100% of UV rays and sheds the water.

Sailrite hot knife "Edge" purchased at dock sale - 2020

We went over to a boat that the gentleman is selling here in the marina for a dock sale. We picked up a few items and two of note are the Sailrite hot knife "Edge" and the Sailrite Sunbrella fabric (5) yards).

Back to the machine shop for anchor chain bracket adjustment - 2020

Yes, back to the machine shop for an adjustment on one bracket. It is hurricane season so yes, it rains a lot. The road here from the highway is cobblestone. Then it turns to dirt after the first turn. We are on the dirt part. We park then walk.😊

Anchor chain bracket for additional support - 2020

The anchor chain bracket we use to hold the chain down into the Lewmar H3 Anchor Windlass while dead dropping the 45 lb CQR anchor and 90' of 3/8 Acco chain gets tremendous stress. This gets the twists out but is a lot of stress on the bracket. So we are adding two support brackets for next season.

Anchor chain marking and bridle work - 2020

Debbie marking the chain. We are putting new marks on to watch for chain twisting and replacing some worn out chain-length markers. Yes it is HOT and Debbie found just a bit of shade!
Also the Mantus Chain hook and bridle system has a Stainless Steel eye that is twisted in the splice that we are fixing.

Vesper 8000 second external alarm installed...louder - 2020

We picked up a small loud siren locally and installed it to make the remote alarm from our AIS Vesper Marine 8000 so it would wake us up if we were sleeping.
When we sleep at anchor it is quiet, possibly a fan on but that's about it. Still, the one that you can get from Vesper is still not very loud.

Honda 9.9 outboard motor maintenance done for Summer\hydrofoil installed - 2020

Luis, our machinic, did a fine job on our Honda 9.9 hpoutboard. I do not do the Summer service myself any more and it is nice to have it off my plate👏. Here he is draining the oil and he also did the gear oil. He also greased the swivel joint, checked the impeller and put in new spark plugs...to name a few items.
