Plumbed bilge pump hoses - 2011

2011 - Marina Cortez San Diego, CA
The Y valve etc with the new hose not yet connected.

To plumb the sink, the two new bilge pump hoses needed to be installed first. So first we discontented the original red heater hose that was used for the original bilge pump. It has a ¾ ID. We also took some of the stuff off the through hole for the original bilge pump that we hijacked for the Rule as the original did not work. Like the Y valve and another hose that went nowhere.
Here is the 3/4 ID hose running up the port side
Here it is connected to the Rule bilge pump with an adapter for the 1 1/4 ID hose
This hose will got to the original bilge pup (the jabsco) when we re-build it, we are waiting for the rebuild kit.
New Rule bilge pump hose
Neat we had to install the new 1 ¼ ID hose that will go to the Rule bilge pump and the new through hole that we have yet to install. That can be done later as this work really is all about the engine install.
The big loop under the sink of the new two inch exhaust hose would make this real difficult.
So anyway we cut a 1 ½ inch hole in the shelf on the storage cabinet on the port side next to the sink.
Also we drilled another at the upper forward side of the cabinet that went through to the storage are behind the salon back cushions. This is where the original bilge pump through hole is. The new one for the Rule we decide will go here also.
Now we drilled another from the lower cabinet on the port side next to the cabinet under the sink.
Next we had to make the are under the sink on the starboard side that goes to the engine room  bigger to accept another hose going in. So we made that cut using a jig saw.

We ran the hoses back a bit in the lower cabinet under the sink. It original 3/4 ID hose was a bit more towards the door a making putting things in the cabinet a little challenging.

We will secure the hoses to the bulkhead soon and that will remove any low spots.

Now the new hose for the Rule bilge pump was ready to run. We of course did some sanding for chafe protection etc.

You see here the two new bilge pump hoses in the lower back of the lower sink cabinet.

In the under the sink picture there is only one half of the loop for the exhaust hose there. Phill cut the other half off when he removed the engine. The rest of the 1 ½  exhaust  hose will be removed when the new 2” hose is installed.

The other exhaust hose is actually the sink drain hose that goes the through hole in the engine room.
Here is the new hose dropping down into the engine room
You can see it here next to the smaller bilge pump hose. It is not connected to anything yet.
