We got our quote on the teak and holly sole from the second person he is primarily a synthetic flooring person.
We usually see him at the boat shows. He has not sent the $$ pricing yet.

He brought a piece of the synthetic teak and holy with him. It looks surprisingly good. The cost difference is about the same for plywood covered veneered wood as it is for the synthetic.
The synthetic comes like wood comes in strips tongue and grove. It holds up better as we saw him drop a tape measure on the synthetic with no damage. It would have made a mark in the wood.
There does not need to be maintained and needs nothing after installation and It is non-slip so that is nice.
The wood needs some gym floor varnish and a first coat of epoxy. It also is a lot of work to varnish up.
Our issue so far with the synthetic is that we are varnishing the wood on the boat. The synthetic I think would look good if you left all the other interior wood alone or maybe oiled it. You really need to at least oil it. On our Catalina 30 we had oiled teak and did not care for it. There is also a lot more here to oil all the time (about every six months).
In some pictures we were seeing how it would look next to satin varnish and gloss varnish.
That is how the boat is being finished, with satin on the flat spots and gloss on the trim and gloss on the oak.

There will be no teak and holly in the head as it has the shower grate

By the galley and companionway (the teak will be satin and the oak seat will be gloss here)
We will be looking at a 40’ boat with the synthetic installed in it to get a better idea of how it looks.
You will save money during installation because the tongue and groove configuration enables lower installation costs than square-edged boarding with patent fixing systems.
