Propane locker test fit in lazarett - 2010

This last Saturday we put the boat back together again from the engine removal. We did not go there on Friday night as usual and spend the night. It took most of the day to do that. We had to re-install the dodger and etc etc.
December 2010 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

We did have some time for the propane locker lazarett fit.  It is still a work in progress. We slid it into the lazarett and decide the position needs to be up top as much as possible. Also not side mounts. We want the propane locker to come out incase we need to service something in the lazarett. Also it should come out by one person. So our think is to put two stainless steel straps on the top back side to the refer box screwed in. The a shelf for it to sit on using L shaped stainless steel brackets. Then a jack line type strap to hold it to the refer box side by going across it.
As for the inside we were going to have the automatic switch over regulator in the middle. That will not work as you need to take out the propane bottle closest to the companion way to get the other out if it is empty. So it will be mounted on the port side. No big deal there.
We are going with the 21/2 gallon composite bottles for a few reasons. One is weight. They can easily or more easily be trans ported by dingy and buss if need be or cart to get filled and one can still be there working.
So with the locker in the lazarett there was not enough space for my fat ass to get into the locker. Hello Debbie! Debbie slid in no sweat. She helped hold up the locker while I tried the bottles and then we put in the refer bracket as the refer will go port side to the Propane locker. Not much space for her to move around but there will be some good access space for items like fenders or whatever. Actually we are thinking of blow up fenders.
All in all it seems to be a good fit and there will be enough room for a through hole fitting and valve for venting. Lets hope😊!
Now to start the top trim plywood to hold the gasket and some re-enforcement plywood on the sides for the regulator and top hold down brackets.
 Then to start glassing.
