Making bread came about by me wanting to make some bread. I have heard a whole bunch about it and thought I should know how and be the bread maker\winner yuck yuck.
We made bread this last Sunday 10-05-10. We got up and had some breakfast. Talked a bit and then I played the guitar for an hour or so. Then about 1:30 PM or so we started the bread making.
Debbie walked me through it. She has not made bread in a very long time. I have never made bread.
First we mixed it up in a bowl.
No need for a step by step blow here as we just followed a recipe. We will post it later.
The bread came out good.
Here we are knuckling the bread on the salon table. We could have used the top of the stove cover but we preheated the oven and it got real hot so we moved it back. Next time we do not need to preheat the oven so soon so we could do this over the stove.

Here we are thumping it it to see how done it is
What we could or should do different next time.
The yeast never got hot enough. It was about 65 deg outside. Maybe 70 deg inside. I think the yeast package says 80 deg or more. We should have put it over a steaming pot of water to rise. Next time.
We used a platter to cut the bread instead of a cutting board. I hit the knife on the edge of the platter a few times which will dull up the knife.
That's it!
The bread smell was hardly detectable. Could be because the floor boards have holes for fingers in them and so the bilge odors take over. Seeing as the engine is out the bilge has diesel fuel, oil, and simple green and other solvents smelling up the boat. Also the nice :) smell of fresh varnish!

We were leaving for home on Sunday evening. Next time we will make the bread on Saturday when time does not matter or we are not on a schedule. Damn schedules!
Took us four hours to make the bread. It was fun so we will do this again!
