Stateroom door varnishing - seven coats - build up - 2011

This is seven coats. There are places where the varnish builds up, at the bottom of the lower panel and top of the lower panel.

The same goes with the top door panel. So it gets sanded each time or most times to help reduce the buildup. I have tried sever methods to help reduce this but have not found a cure.

 The same goes for the louvered doors. Along the edges of the louvers it builds up. I try to wick it away with the sponge brush but it still needs a bit of sanding. I think it is just the nature of varnishing.
