Galley sink is now in place with new Delta one touch faucet - 2011

We got the sink in place now. The process was as follows.

March 1011 - Marina Cortez San Diego, CA

Debbie cleaned the underside of the sink using a red scratch pad and Lacquer thinner.
This was done in the cockpit on the Workmate.
Debbie also cleaned the top of the counter top where the sink sits.
Debbie then taped the sink and the counter top around where the sink would sit.
Then she applied the silicone that we used to seal the hatch glass to the underside of the sink and then the top of the counter top.
I picked up the sink and dropped it jarring loose th drain on one side. We were lucky to get it back tight with only one pipe wrench on board!
We then flattened out the silicone on the counter top.
Then it was time to sit the sink into the counter top.
We lined it up by measuring the front. We had decided which was more important to us to be lined up. The back next to where you stand or the front by the faucet. You cannot have both as the area is not square. We could split the difference but both would look off. We chose the faucet side because you see it from more places.
We used a stick inside the sink and a measuring tape to the wood to get an good measurement.
We did that and we started to tighten the four clamps that go on the side.
After we tightened one side I thought we need to remove the sink to get the clamps in on the starboard side.
We took the sink back out and put the clamps on but it did not need to be removed. Of well no harm no you know. So then we tightened up the clamps lightly. The sink was not centered on the tape. It was overlapping the tape on one side. Figuring we would not get the tape out we loosened the sink again and moved it to center on the faucet.
Again we tightened the clamps being careful not to tighten them too much as they are only spot welded onto the sink the clamp brackets.
Debbie then removed the tape and cleaned up the silicone.
I forgot to cut out an area under the sink on the shelf so the weight for the faucet extension hose would come up and down smoothly. So we will need to do it the harder way as there is a lot less room now.
The plumbing from the sink to the sink drain hose still needs to be done but first the hole mentioned above needs cutting first.
