Nav station wood

The next piece up for varnishing is the nav station shelf piece. It is where the VHF radio is on our boat.
This piece of wood will house the SSB and new VHF radios we will get. This piece came with the boat and is not all holed out or cut up. That will not be for about a year. Still while we have the garage it is a good time to varnishing this piece of wood. We made a temporary piece of wood to go in the spot and painted it. We then moved the VHF radio there from where it was beside the steps. We are trying for a minimal amount of gadgets sticking out of the wood in the boat. The two radios we need and battery monitor. Also the propane alarm needs to be heard. Aside from that everything else will go behind a door someplace. As it is we are trying to figure a place to hide the propane alarm. The bilge alarm that is now at the nav station will go behind it with a much bigger siren.
Cleaning it all up!

Before washing with TSP or any varnish. To begin soon :)

We will move the Link 2000 battery monitor over where the two holes are. What to do with the other hole that it will not cover is still being decide.
