Honda EU2000i generator purchased - 2010

July 2010 in San Diego, CA

We bought a Honda EU2000i gas generator about six months ago. I thought we were going to start anchoring out on the weekend but boy was I in for a surprise.
We bought it here (www.wisesales.com):  as at the time they had the best price.

We got the generator and I installed an hour meter on it. The meter will tell you how long it runs.
The install was a pain in the ass but worth it.
Note:
Actually the meter has never worked. The LED readout is not readable! Do not purchase this meter.

Debbie made a cover for it out of Sunbrella

Yes threw some shoes in there to
There is a red back pack behind the gen
I bought a gas can.

The boat came with a Simpson Lawrence windlass and it was not working. I did get it working and we were going to go anchor. So I tested it once more. It would not work. I said that’s it. It would need replacing any way so lets do it now. Well it turned into a major project as the bow rollers also need replacing etc. So sat the generator to this work was all completed, and now.

So the generator has never been started yet. We have done a couple anchors with our new equipment but have not needed to use the generator.

I got the one with a 30 amp plug so we would not need and adaptor.

We store it under the bed. Well in front of the bed under the step. There is lots of room under there. There is room for my guitar, the sewing machine and the generator and still there is more room. That’s just under the step in front of the bed!

So the generator still sits never yet run and I am now wondering if I need to change the oil as it has been sitting for six months or more?

Oh ya bought a oil changer spout for it also.
We were on a Freeport raft up once and the 36 Freeport tied next to us fired up his Honda 2000 generator. I was annoyed but I must admit it was quiet. Not as quiet as none but it was quiet. It also happened at a Catalina raft up and again I was surprised how quiet this woman’s 2000 Honda was and it was on the boat tied up next to us also.
