One of two anchor Locker LED Lights installed - 2010

August 2010 - At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
Before.
We installed the first of  the West Marine 8-LED White/Red Dome Light in the anchor locker.

We will also install one behind the anchor windlass on the chain gypsy side in case there is a jam or problem then we can see it.

These two will wire up with one more in the chain locker.

Each one draws less than 1 amp. Each has 4 Led whites and 4 LED reds. So of course they can be turned on as red or white lights. Each has its own on\off switch built.

This light will shine on the chain before it goes through the bracket that keeps it in the proper height feed for the chain gypsy. That way we can see any markings on the chain and if it is piling up (amount of slack) etc.
Note:
This choice of light was not a good idea. They stopped working as soon as they got hit with some water from washing down the boat or anchor chain washing or rain. Not sure what water got to them but the are water Resistant not water proof. The idea is a good one though.
