Salon cockpit window installed! - 2012

May 2012- Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA

OK we or Debbie got another window in the salon installed!
Debbie first did her famous prep job of the small window facing the cockpit. Just because it was small it not make it any less difficult. Infarct it took as much time and effort as the large ones.
Being careful not to damage the veneer around the inside of the window Debbie got the inside frame off.  Of course she first removed the curtains and rod holders.

Then it was time to go around the out side and the inside of the window to break the seal there.

This window we had removed the inside ring before when testing the window when we ordered them. We tested them to see if the new windows need to be over sized or not. They did not.
This made taking the inside ring off a bit easier as the seal had been broken.
Window is out.
Window is out and Debbie is cleaning the edges.
I jump in to help out.
With the area prepped Debbie dry fits the window.
As you can see there is questionable workmanship here on the window cut out. The window fits but will require some caulking fill around it to seal it good.
The next step was to clean the window with Acid-tone and then apply the caulking to it.
After placing the window in place she caulked around it filling in the voids.
I helped spread the caulking around.
That done the inside ring was put in place and Debbie started screwing in all the screws.
Some final clean up.
OK its done! Another nice job Debbie!
We are rounding the corner now with the new windows 😁
