Putting in some engine hours and other tests.

This Saturday we took the boat out for a motor. We were advised by Phil our engine mechanic to get the boat out and test the engine to make sure it was going to perform as we expected. It is still under warranty and we are still close to Phil and his shop. Anything that could go wrong needs to do it now if possible.

To that we went out for four hours straight. 20 hours straight would be better but let’s face it that is not really possible at this time as we both work 40 hours and have a life yet.

We did get about two hours at 2600 RPM and over 6 knots. We were bashing part of the time against the 2 knot current and 15 knot winds and the three blade prop kept us at a steady speed. The seas were not bad and the boat was sea kindly.

No problems and no water in the bilge etc.
We did about 2200 RPS the rest of the time.

When we got out we did some tests.
One was the test of our rebuilt macerator and it worked fine.

The second was our new VHF radio and it failed. We think it is a antenna connection error. Our hand held VHF radio got a response on channel 27 radio test but not our new one at the nav station.
