We talked to Mermaid again about the setup of the two units
for electricity. This time it was about electrical.
They said I could
hook both to the current 30 amp shore power circuit but it would be running at ¾
capacity with both units running.
They each would be
wired to a 20 amp breaker.
What we are thinking for redundancy is to have we think the
5,200 btu unit run off the current 30 amp circuit. Then add another 30 amp
shore power line with a pig tail to the shore power cable. Run the 12,000 btu
unit off this line.

This set up would be
nice in that it if say we lost the pig tail we could still run the AC at least
in the stateroom. I suppose we could plug the genset into the 12,000 and run it
and then unplug and run the hose electric if need be. We are liking the idea of
the units on separate circuits.
This will be interesting to see how it all works out,
