The solution we came up with for the bronze elbow to the
macerator hose is this.
A Dometic SeaLand
plastic fitting that screws into the 1 ½ inch through hole valve. It is made
for this application and the hose fits easily over the smooth hose barb. We
have used these and they are easy to work with. Now to do the re-install of the
elbow. We will replace the hot water heater and will do this at that time,
shortly.
