New Mattress

Debbie removed the foam which we had previously we bought as our mattress.
Here is looks like put together

Here is the piece that is my side. Yes it is a big piece and over half the bed, but hay I am bigger!
Besides Debbie is the one who said "Cut it here". Her side has two inches of memory foam and then this foam under it (with two inches lopped off the top for the memory foam). We are happy with the firmness of our sides.

This is the area forward of the holding tank and houses our vacuum tank for the VacuFlush toilet.
As you can see the sound insulation needs some attention. We will be doing some work in here (wiring) soon and we will re-glue the insulation in a couple spots needed.
The new mattress would have to be hinged in two areas, for access to the ones under the bed.

Debbie made a template for a new honest-to-goodness mattress. We will be checking out a place here in San Diego up on Adams Avenue this Saturday to see if they are to our liking. They make boat mattress.

We will, of course, get more than one bid, unless they offer some killer deal!

This was a major job and a time consuming job and it will be a big help when we negotiate a mattress for our bed. It will also ensure that the new mattress will fit properly and the sheets can be put on easier (not easy now), well let's hope.
