We went to the mattress store on Saturday to find out about a new mattress for our boat. This is the one we made😊

What we found out was both good news and bad news. The good news is we saved a bunch of money. The bad news is there is no magic mattress to buy.
We essentially would be buying what we already have.
Shortly after purchasing the boat w went to Keystone Bros and bought some HR 45 foam. It is 6 .5” thick.
We had it cut to fit the bed area. Then we cut it in, well not exactly half as I have more room but kind of down the center and then once more across that piece so we have access to the hatches under the bed.
The details on the blog about how we cut it and re-configured Debbie’s side.
At the store we laid on a whole bunch of beds. The one I liked best was a HR 45 foam! The one Debbie liked best was latex foam. It is natural foam.  So if we bought a bed they would go buy the foam we have and cover it and then sell it to us.
We just purchased a mattress topper from a fellow FOGger that is cut to fit our bed\boat. It was used a few times and then they decide to buy a mattress. They sold it for shipping cost. With that and some new foam for Debbie we think we have a great mattress.

Debbie's favorite is:
Latex Foam - 3" soft on 3" firm (or 3" soft on 3" HR45).

We may also get some air vents for under the foam  like this HyperVent and trim down the foam to say 5.5” thick.
