We are currently cruising our Islander Freeport 36 sailboat in Mexico. We have been extensively documenting our outfitting for this adventure. Also, what works and what is not of value.
New latch on the cabinet door above the salon seat.
Debbie put a new latch on this cabinet above the salon seat.
The PO had moved the hinges to the bottom as the seat gets worn in and then the
foam rises to a height that the door cannot pass by.
The door worked fine
but the latch was not holding. We tried several things and then Debbie decided
to install a new latch. It is working nicely. She did the same thing on the
storage door (1978 Freeport) by the sink.
