ICOM 802 SSB and Pactor modem - purchased - 2012

April 2012 - Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA
We just ordered or ICOM 802 SSB and Pactor modem III from Sea Tech Systems.

We also got a DSC antenna for the emergency response if we send out a emergency call. The SSB has a huge range whereas the VHF does not. We would send out a distress call on both you would think. The SSB does not receive a response unless you have a DSC antenna to receive it.

Learning all the time it seems. This antenna can be mounted on the bimini as the height is not all that important.

They said to set the antenna to 23'.
Guess it will have company when we get a WiFi antenna :)
