SHURflo Pro Blaster Washdown Pump 4.0 GPM mounted - 2012

April 2012 - Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA
The SHURflo Pro Blaster Washdown Pump 4.0 GPM we put in the forward hanging locker.

We will need to secure the hose and the anchor windless cables more as this project proceeds.
This is the only place we could find would conform to the pump requirements of being above the water line etc. and have access to a through hull and have the hose run through the head.
We thought about the chain locker but there is not much room and the pump would be in harm’s way as the anchor chain could catch on it, ripping it out and causing some major anchoring problems.
We tried under the sink in the head but there is not enough room there either and the hose would need to get routed lower into the chain locker which we do not like for safety reasons.
So for now this is the best place we can find for the SHURflo Pro Blaster Washdown Pump 4.0 GPM. It actually does not take up much room as my jacket for instance lays right over it.
About 15' of 1/2 ID hose.
We routed the out ½ hose from the pump to the chain locker. It was not hard at all and that was a relief. We will connect it to the Y valve in the chain locker. It is currently plumbed to fresh water (house) only.
The hose connectors that come with the pump have a 1/2 ID but a 3/4 OD and require a 3/4 hose. Not so fast there, that is more $$ and harder to route. We bought the 1/2 SHURflow hose adapters and replaced the ones with the 3/4 OD. So now we route 1\2 hose.
We just stuck it into the Y valve for now not really plumbed.
As we were looking at the "Y" valve I noticed the 90 deg elbow on the quick connect. That I will want to change out because it restricts the flow of water.  I have learned some things since we originally plumbed the "Y" valve.
