Matrix GX 2150 and ICOM M802 radio mis-steps and mounting - 2012

The Standard Horizon Matrix GX 2150 AIS + radio got some more playing around with.
Debbie got the MMSI # for our boat.
April 2012 - Currently at Marina Kona Kai Shelter Island San Diego, CA
MMSI # 338131389
One of the many places to get the number.

I had asked Debbie to get the number so we could enter it into the radio. It can only be entered once.

Debbie entered the number with no errors, ya Debbie!
Holy cow I messed up!
Just was reading about the ICOM M802 SSB and it requires a “Ship Station License” and you get a MMSI number automatically when you get the license!

Now what?? Debbie at my request has entered the # into the radio and that cannot be un-done :(

OK I called Standard Horizon Customer Service call (800)767-2450.
I talked to support and they said we would need to ship the radio to them and they could remove the # for free.

There probably would be no harm in having two numbers and the products would still work fine but we will do it right and ship off the radio to Cypress.
Ok moving on, we played with the DSC and found out that if you send a “Position Request” to a ship it will return the info and the radio will send that data to the chart plotter where it will be displayed. No talking to anyone it is automatic.
It got late and I gave up the radio playing.
Now to install the radio or at least cut the spot for it.
First off I made a mistake hard wiring the AIS wires so they need to get cut and re-wired. Not a big deal. They should be wired to a terminal block for easy radio removal.
We played with the cut outs that Debbie made for the radio faces. The decision was to try to keep the mics from getting tangled and we wanted to mount them on the front of the wood panel at the nav station.
We came up with this setup. The  ICOM M802 SSB would be on top with the mic at the top left.
The Standard Horizon Matrix GX 2150 VHF would be on the bottom with the mic at the bottom left. We do not think the chords will inter tangle or be in front of either radio.
