Bilge alarm working

Monday night we got the Rule Bilge Alarm working. It is nice to have the knowledge that it will go off if the water gets that high. That is unless I turn it off. We added a switch to the alarm so that if it does go off for some reason we can shut it off while we work on the issue. So we will mark ON\Off

When the alarm sounds it also has a red LED that will light up.

To test it we duck taped a piece of wire to a mop\boat hook pole and Debbie gently lifted up the float switch from the bottom. The float switch is located inside a plastic housing so it does not get fouled. There is a place to push a piece of plastic to test it on the float but it is hard for us to get at.

We will re-locate the bilge alarm siren to behind the nav station and only have the switch visible. It will probably mount under the propane detector. The new alarm will be an old house alarm siren we have. It is real loud. If that does not work out then ME sells a red bell like a fire alarm bell that mounts on the wall that will work. At least the bilge alarm is working for now and can wake up Debbie. Not sure about me. Nor if the engine is running and we are out in the cockpit.
The other sirens could be heard from another boat.
