Beta engine oil pump modification for more clearance - 2015

Beginning of October 2015 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico
So we moved the Beta Marine oil change pump out of the way
and started with the rasp on the fiberglass.

As you can see where he arrow is pointed there is not much, if any, clearance between the oil change pump and the motor mount foot (the fiberglassed-in area that the motor mount sits on). We would like more clearance. Just because it seems right to have more. At a rough idle this could beat against the fiberglass. Have not seen it but then again we try to stay away from idling rough 😑
It was working a bit but I could not get much leverage. I then switched to the dremel tool. It made more of a mess but got the job done a lot quicker.

With rasp.
After using dremel tool - all done.
The Dremel tool...one of the handiest tools on a boat!
