SaniGard holding tank filter

We replaced our holding tank filter (10/7/2011). It was originally purchased from Defender Marine on 08/28/2009 and installed around then. This one is the replacement cartridge for 5/8 ends.

I think they should be replaced every year. Oops!

This last one we got at "A to Z Marine" because we wanted it NOW and WM was out of them J
Nice to have a new one.

When we bought the original one we also got a re-build kit off eBay and we still have it. We will search it out and re-build the one we used so it will be ready for future use. The kit is just a couple of PVC fittings and some charcoal.  The info is in the kit which I will post. Saves big $$ on filters. We will get the kit and go shop for the kit parts so we have a complete kit and then re-build the old filter. The when the new one fails we can insert the old one (that is re-bulit) and off wego. The we rebuild the one we took off and then we will have a back up again. The we will just need to buy new carbon (I think it comes from fish stores) and foam.

SaniGard SeaLand Dometic Vent Filter RECHARGE KIT for marine holding tanks

Kit includes custom PVC pipe adapters that screw together, special chemical and water resistent foam baffles,
.60 liter of laboratory grade activated carbon and detailed instructions on servicing your previously disposable filter.

This kit allows your filter to last a lifetime rather than 1 year, and allows you to recharge it
yourself for about $5 each time after it has been converted with the kit.
