The new fresh water pump (SHURFlo Serial # 5901-2011 Extreme™ Smart Sensor 5.7 Fresh Water Pump) we installed is screwed into the
plywood bulkhead in the engine room. It first goes into the 1” insulation. We
do not think this is a good way of fastening the pump as it vibrates and after
some time will sink into the insulation making the pump loose and then it could
vibrate the hoses loose etc. To fix this we are fabricating a piece of marine ½
plywood base which will be under the pump. Also under the pump is a heat sink.
The way it presses against the insulation now the heat sink is up against the
insulation making it less effective. This mounting plate will remedy all this.
