Pump is leaking.
OK so I screwed up and somehow bought an SHURFlo RV pump for our house water pump.
October 2011 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
So what happened is I bought a RV OEM pump that is sold to
manufactures of RV’s and carries a one year warranty.
It is not made for
marine use (by the marine industry).
It will however work well as a backup if I can re-build it
which I am going to try to do and hope the cost is low.
We changed out the hose from the water tanks to the pump to a shorter non kink able hose
We added a terminal block for easier maintenance.
The hose out going to the house water will get replaced when we replace the hot water heater. It will be the same non-kink able hose as the inlet and be up out of the way.
The new SHURFlo Serial # 5901-2011 Extreme™ Smart Sensor 5.7
Fresh Water Pump 12 VDC we just put in to replace it with we bought at Marine
Exchange and carries a 3 year warranty from date of manufacture which is
stamped on the pump (9-14-2011) so it will we good for a few years from now. At
the time of installation of the old pump that we replaced the original house
water pump with we were not keeping the blog. We could not find out where or
when we bought the old pump but now with the blog we have a “log” of all out transactions
etc.
