Fixing pluming leak - or not - 2012

Marina Cortez in San Diego Harbor Island 6\12\2012
First off there is a plastic hose barb on one hose that we wanted to extend. Dam.
Spent a couple hours fixing the leak and came away with another leak. Guess that’s why I do not like plumbing so much.
That meant we had to get the heat gun and remove the hose. Then heat up the new hose to put it on. We would replace the plastic hose barb but it connects to plastic so it stays. Ok that done we removed the "T" fitting and replaced the 45 deg fitting with a straight hose barb. Lengthened another hose and re-routed a couple. Then back together.
We probably want to make this cut out a little wider also.
The original leak is fixed but at the other end of the T there is a plastic screw on fitting for the gray plastic hose and it is leaking. I tried to tighten it as much as I dared but it still drips every so often. I am tired of this so no more for this week. If I tried to tighten it much more it may very well may break, the plastic screw on fitting. They have broken before when I over tighten them. They are supposed to be hand tight and then a half turn or so. I am using a wrench on this one so you know right off it is not correct.

OK next week we will give it another go. Probably do some more plumbing also for the AC ducking as some lines may be in the way by the water heater.
