Sailing to Marina Cortez from La Playa, anchor test - 2010

On the way from the anchorage at La Playa we took some pictures from the cockpit. We were returning home after our second anchor test. There were a few boats of interest.
2010 - Marina Cortez San Diego, CA
Before we left the dock we had some canvas up to keep the sun from the big hatches over our salon area.
We can pull the canvas down in front as the sun goes down to keep the sun out of the cabin.
This is a Hinterhoeller Nonsuch
This is how close we were to the nearest boat, not bad at 70’ scope in the water.
It also happens to be an interesting boat.
Us at anchor,
Old\new boat.
Hmmm
This is that painted up boat and every one loves to take pictures of it. Guess I am one of them hugh.
We tried motoring with the spacer in place between the dodger and bimini. I must say it was nice. We did not need to look at sail trim so it was fine. Good protection from the sun and in the winter I think the cold wind, even under sail.
These are some pictures from\in the cockpit with the spacer in.
This is on the way out of Shelter Island, the lille beach.
That's it!
