Head door port hole - 2010

July 2010 - At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
Our head door varnishing is done. We did the trim in gloss and the flat in satin. We also re-did the brass fixtures. The PO put a sign on the door we did not like and so we removed it. We tried various things but could not remove the metal stains from the wood. That meant we needed to cover it.

We saw a boat for sail in Hawaii that had brass port hole on the head door and it looked fine. So that is what we went with.
There was of course issues.
Screw length as to not go through the door.
Also the dogs that stick out to close the port hole we may replace with brass acorn nuts for clearance when entering the head. Not sure yet on that.
