We installed the Hatch glass - 2010

This is the last hatch to do! We have four all the same size. This one is over the bed.

October 2010 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA

We taped the area of the hatch where the sealant was going to go with blue tape.
We put the hatch glass onto the hatch top. First, we washed the area with Acetone and then removed the film from one side of the glass. It is not really glass it is some kind of plastic and I forgot the name of it.
We got it at San Diego Plastics, Inc
We then cleaned the edge of the glass with Acetone.
Debbie then put sealant on the hatch with the caulking gun. We had only a throw away type of caulking gun at the garage where we did this. The nice one is at the boat. We have done the rest on the dock but this was nicer doing it at the garage. Of course we did not have a garage before.

The sealant” Glazing Sealant for Hatch Lenses White” Sealant we (Debbie) got from Pompanette who now has the old hatch product line Bomar.
We put short 1x1 boards on the top, so they do not reach the sealant. The boards on the bottom are longer. The more clamps the better. Good to remove the blue tape off the hatch top after you put on the top glass and smooth out the sealant. We forgot this time because it has been a while since we did the last three.
