Oceanair Roller Blinds Skyscreen installation - stats - 2010

Our boat (s\v Elegant'sea) in the salon facing forward. This one is in the salon facing forward.
We installed the Oceanair Skyscreen so the shade closes towards the bow so the sun can be controlled during the afternoon\evening.

SFSS-1080 Currently have
Inner 18 1/2 × 18 1/2
Overall 22 3/4 × 24
After the hatch was installed, we cleaned up around the inside of the hatch and then Debbie taped around it. She then took 3M 101 and spread it around the gap smoothing it over. Comes out nice.
We installed Oceanair Skyscreen on all our hatches (4).  We got ours from Welcome-aboard.com. They work great. Especially like the one over the bead. It makes it like the hatch is not there. So when you want it dark it is great. Also you can open\close the screen without having to go up on deck, say in the rain. Lots of other features too. Cools the boat nice and you can use part screen and part shade.
To install the screens you need to find the wood around the hatch. We did this with a ice pick-type tool. Pushed it into the wood and used that hole with a slightly short screw in some cases to secure the hatch. We used the outer corner holes for mounting. You will need to use some clamps to hold them in place loosely and then fish around till you find four spots that hit wood for the screws.
I guess you could use a bigger Oceanair Roller Blinds Skyscreen and use the inside holes as well. Not sure if there is enough space in the head for this method.
To give you an idea of what you are dealing with I posted a couple pictures of a sister boat who is doing a headliner project. You can see the 1 ¾ or so wood around the hatches.
