Saling over to Loews Coronado Bay Resort - 2010

2010 - The trip to Loews Coronado Resort was real nice. We spent a few days at the Loews Crown Isle Marina doing R&R.
We did not sail because we are working on the traveler. We motored over to the Coronado Cays and spent a few days. We took a bunch of pictures of San Diego bay. We sail the bay a lot but never take any pictures so we did this time.
A small aircraft carrier came out and the Navy patrol boat told Debbie (she was at the helm) to get 500 yards away. Now how do you measure 500 yards? That’s a hard guess. You could fire up the chart plotter and make a couple way points etc. but come on, the harbor is not all that big to have so much security zones. I do not think there was 500 yards between us and the sea wall anyway. So the ship and us passed each other, and all was fine.

Although sunny it is still a bit cold. It is in the 60’s for the whole day we were coming back. Also in the 60’s going.
We saw s\v Windwalker there, another Islander Freeport.
