While we were out dinging about in our marina we went by two other Islander Freeports. One a 38’ and one a 36’. We noticed their rudders and saw how they sat in the water. It has been a long time since ours (s\v Elegant'sea) sat the high in the water.
OK we have a big dingy hanging off the back with outboard on it also :).
Note:
It was a test for our Kato Marine Island Davits that we installed. That dingy that we sold and replaced with an 10'2" Achilles LSI-310E.
Surprisingly
our boat seems to not have any problems with the added weight. Could be it is a
bunch slower but we are not in any hurry.
