Refer thermostat wired and working - 2011

Stopped at Marine Exchange and picked up 25’ of 16/2 wire for the thermostats. As it turn out this was just about the right amount.  About 12' each for the run. We had guest-a-manted it before hand.
November 2011 - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor Island, San Diego, CA
We could run both 16/2 wires to the same 2 amp fuse but for testing and installing purposes we wired the separate. If we need the room on the ST Blade Fuse Block - 6 Circuits with Negative Bus and Cover fuse block at some point then we can double them up.
The fuses are out now so the wires are not live.
We put solder less terminal ends on the one end and used the new heat gun we got at harbor Freight a while back for the heat shrink. It works nice.  The wire were run but not secured until all is working fine.
We got the refer thermostat working, the one that turns on the fan if the temperature is not low enough. Does not take much smarts to do that, I mean turn on the fan. It did take a few attempts with the jumper wire etc. to get it working. It is just sitting in place now and will need to come apart to get the final mounting.
The freezer thermostat now has the power wire and the sensor wires ready to go it needs the wires to the compressor to make it work. That means another trip to Marine Exchange for about 6’ of 16/2 wire. Also Some more heat shrink.
Tonight we will run the 20 or so feet of #10/2 wire from the batteries to the controller. Then add solder less term ends to the battery side and hook up the controller side. We may need to un-mount the controller to do this. Also this will take a trip to Home Depot for heat shrink for the 10/2 wires.
As you can see in the picture it is 57 degrees out and it is a bit windy so it is chilly and getting dark. We miss summer already! Got some cruiser friends that have just arrived in Cabo.

“And that would be why the intrepid crew of Eagle have just arrived in Cabo San Lucas for a couple of days before leaving for La Paz. It is 88 degrees in the cockpit, with 84 in the cabin. The water temp is 78 degrees and we do not see a single piece of polar fleece anywhere!! As much as we miss our friends and family up there....it is too damn cold and rainy!!”
