IMTRA LED flood light mount made

To mount the IMTRA LED flood light we would need a custom made mount. It seems they are easily mounted on a power boat but exactly how to mount this on a bimini or some pole is not apparent.

We have some extra ¾ starboard from our cockpit table build so we decided this would be a good way to go. It is easier to work with than stainless steel and plenty strong enough for mounting the flood light on.

The SS tubing may yet need to be cut shorter or a new longer one made. This piece is a left over piece of scrap SS tubing.

Had drawn out a mount and cut it out with the jig saw. Then used the Japanese saw, fine side to re-cut the melted starboard.
It was not melted solid only some so cutting it with the hand saw was easy.

There is still a film on the other side

The it got sanded with #80 grit, 220, 120

Cut out done

Then we drilled it out for the SS mounting hardware. We had one of these kicking around.

Then drilled out the flood light mounting hole.

We put the SS mount on with the exrtra long screws we got from ME.

Then mounted the flood light hardware

You could run the wire through the bolt but we will run it on top of the SS tubing so it will be out of sight.

We will fill (seal) the end of the SS tubing with 3M 4000 UV so it will not collect water

This is as far down as it will point. We are thinking this will be enough to light up the dingy and stern steps. If we need it pointed down further the mounting system will need to re-configured. We tried the mount upside down and it points the same.
