TV Movie setup for on the hook - 2011

Nice little setup for watching a movie on the hook
Equipment:
  • 27 inch LED TV
  • Toshiba laptop with HDMI cable to TV and DVD drive on laptop
  • Windows 7 and Windows media player
  • 150 watt West Marine modified sin wave inverter (plugged into cigarette type adapter to 12 volt house batteries) This we had left over from our 30’ Catalina sail boat.
  • External speakers powered by two AAA rechargeable batteries
  • One wireless mouse
 Worked great!

Other equipment we have
  • Droid X phone tethered to the laptop for laptop internet access
  • External 1 terabyte bite heard drive (holds Debbie’s move collection)
After watching the movie and using the water pressure pump (house water) and the vacuum pump (VacuFlush toilet) and some LED lights etc during the night we woke up to 12.4 on the house batteries at 7:30 am on a cloudy day. That is 80 percent charged. Not bad. You do not want to go below 70 percent charged. With us still using the above mentioned electricity except the LED lights the batteries were fully charge by 11:30 am and the sun was just starting to come out from the marine lawyer.

At this time we have a 135 watt solar panel and a Blue Sky Energy inc Solar Boost 3024iL DUO.

We started with close to fully charged house batteries.
Our house batteries are 4 – 6 volt golf cart type batteries wired to a series for 2 – 12 batteries 220 amp hours each totaling 440 amp hours wet cells

We do have a Xantrex 2000 modified sin wave charger\inverter that we have not wired up yet so that is why we are using the 150 watt inverter.
