Beta 38 hp diesel engine maintaince done for Summer - 2021

Our new Beta Marine 38 hp engine with duel alternators at the boat show before we installed it in our boat.
Every year we do this maintenance when we get back from the Winters' cruising season. Every other year we replace the antifreeze and tranny oil. This year we replaced the fresh water pump as we thought it may be leaking. It was not but we replaced it anyway along with the thermostat.
June 2021 - Currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas BayMexico (by Puerto Vallarta)

I used to do this but now we have farmed it out to Luis and his son. Luis is a great guy and a heck of a mechanic here in Puerto Vallarta.

Our Beta engine with about 1180 hours on it at 10 years old is running great and sounds great! A few years (2018) ago we rebuilt the stack tube and had a new exhaust elbow made because they showed signs of wear.
Then we run fresh water through the engine for about 20 min and that's it till next Winter cruising season. Here's the list of what we had done -

Change oil and filter

Replace air filter

Replace impeller

Stack tube O rings and clean stack tube

Check belts

Check motor mounts

Racor filters

Replace fuel filter

Generally check over motor, cables etc.

This year:

Replace fresh water pump

Install new thermostat
