Kato Marie Island Davits - refit - 2 of 5 - 2014

Beginning of November 2014 - Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico
Old stern Kato Marine Island Davit mounts. This is an old picture from when we first installed the davits in Marina Cortez in San Diego Harbor Island.

Present day.
New stern mounts with 8" added.
They came back correct this time but at first the were both facing the same way :), not going to work like that! We also changed the angle by 2" from the first modification of this new setup
We put the new stern mounts back on ourselves to save some $$. This takes a lot of contorting and some bruises. They are just on temporarily as we need to do some testing and support templates need to be made.
Starboard side.
This will push the davits out about 11" inches from where they sat before which is a good thing for us.
We cut the cleats off the Kato Marine Island Davits so the davits would fit under the Bimini.
I am cutting them off with a borrowed angle grinder from John.
Here I am grinding off the rough edges. Got one done and then as I was putting down the grinder when the wheel fell off and went with one bounce right into Davy Jones' Locker! Now to buy John a new one.
Ok ready to get mounted and tested for fit.
