As part of the dinghy davit refit we had to
raise the Garhauer Marine “Lifting Davit” or outboard motor lift by
four inches. We had previously cut this down while in San Diego for the initial
install. This will insure that the Lifting
Davit will pass over the island Kato davits to
remove and replace the Honda 9.9 hp outboard on and off the stern rail perch.
This welding and a couple other pieces were
the first to be done. This project is months over do as finding a welder was
near impossible as they were all busy even in the off season and most did not
want to do this complicated project.
It took some tweeking of the rail mount of the Lifting Davit to get the lift past the Bimini but it all works good.
Here is John and myself with his helper working on the Motor Lift re-fit. John owns a couple charter boats in Marina Nuevo Vallarta (across the bay) and is doing the facilitating for the Kato Marine Island Davits re-fit. He also owns "Maritime Services Pegaso". More on that later 😊
