Galley stove gets some attention

September 2013 - Paradise Village Marina in Puerto Vallarta Mexico
First off we replaced the battery for the electric start.
We have had this Force 10 stove for about three or four years. For at least two years it has gotten daily use. So sure can not complain about the battery life. In fact there is noting to complain about so far with this stove.
This grill comes right off. It also lifts up a few inches so you can clean under it. We usually clean it every couple cooking times. keeps it fresh and clean.

The grill however has never been cleaned with oven off. It looked OK but it was time for a good cleaning. We took it off with the oven stuff and put it on the dock and sprayed it with Oven Off.
After some brushing and a little scrubbing it and the parts came out clean not that they were grungy :)
Next was th eoven. It got kind of messy. This stove I have seen swinging wildly in some rough sees with Debbie cooking on it. Got to wonder how it stayed so nice.
There is a spot in the port stern section where things seem to collect. This is where the boat lists when it does. This are I am still working on but it is coming along. Had to put another coat of Oven Off and wait over night. Well it has been two over nights but tomorrow I'll finish it up :)

Have not decided what to do with the teak oven handle. It is raw teak and could look better.
Teak oil?
Teak Wonder?
Varnish?
Hmmmm....

Debbie and I will mull it over and decide on an appropriate solution.
We also will polish up the inside of the hood and the stove cover that has the stainless steel plate on it. This is a nice touch from Islander on the Freeport. It gives us a lot more counter space when we use it.
