Stateroom door varnishing etc - 2011

We got the state room door taped for the final (again, we hope) last coat of gloss and we got the other side taped and prepped for the satin. We also got that last coat of gloss on.
April 2011  - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

Got the door knobs sanded and ready to polish then coat with polyurethane. Debbie bought a dozen eggs for potato salad so we made a fixture to hold the door knobs in place for coating.

Another piece of teak cam up for immediate varnishing. The piece that holds the table from moving around when down on the deck. Got a first coat on that. It will get as many as we can before next weekend and then it will be installed. That will require a couple teak plugs so it will also require a few more coats of varnish.

Got another coat of varnish on the foot pump cover piece. Tried to fill the hole I drilled in it to get out the teak plus before we realized we did not need to. Tried plastic wood but does not varnish well. Or I should say it was white and stayed white. Tried teak caulking but it did not look good, too light. The best way I think would be to use some teak saw dust and mix it in varnish and apply it. I doubt we will do that because of time constraints. May try it.
