Sea trials - second one for our new Beta 38 hp diesel motor - 2011

OK we did our second sea trial with a couple GPS’s. Phil had his GPS\VHF radio and I had the Droid X phone with a speed app in knots. Neither one of us had a GPS that would read anything but whole numbers. So when we were going eight knots it meant we were doing from 7.5 to 8.4 knots.
April 2011  - Currently At Marina Cortez Harbor IslandSan Diego, CA

It did give us the RPM’s per knots for the prop and the new three blade prop is working fine. Looks like our cruising RPM’s is 2,400 for 6 knots. So we will probably do a little less for fuel mileage.
We had the boat doing a comfortable 7 knots and were easily over that.
The prop is a three blade 15-10.
Now to get the deck in and floor boards over the Beta Marine 38 hp diesel engine.
Then do the floor boards insulation!
Mission Bay here we come!
All went well except for the video camera I tried and it was user error so I got a quick one with the Droid X phone I have (work phone) and It is not the best, probably the director’s cut if that is the worst cut!
