Where we (s\v Elegant'sea) anchored in.Bahia De Maruata.
Remember our Garmin GHC 10 class A under-deck autopilot broke again so we are stopping at these anchorages each night to get some rest from hand-steering on the way north from Zihuatanejo. It is also Easter week(s) - Semana Santosso - it's party on for the locals.
These three anchorages are available for stopping if you do not want to spend three days and three nights at sea. That is a passage from Zihuatanejo to Manzanillo . And if you can keep 4-5 knots. We did the two overnights on the way South but in Acapulco our autopilot broke.
Caleta De Campos
Bahia De Maruata Mexico - end of March 2015
Punta Cabeza Negra
We did stop at all three and here is what we found on the way North in a heavy S - SW swell.
Any more info please see a guide book and Charlies Charts.
The next anchorage going North is Punta Cabeza Negra.
Debbie doing some hand steering.
And there is always a wale show 😊
Lots of choppy seas getting into this anchorage! Another roadstead anchorage.
Not a comfortable sea state the last couple hours.
Anchored at last.
Pretty spot with the ocean coming in-between the small islands.
Big swells but not choppy and the land blocked most of the wind. We have the flopper stopper out(RockN Roll Stabilizer).
This house is on the land just before the islands, by the dingy landing.
Where the dingy landing is but the surf is too big!
The dingy landing is to the left between the small rock and the land.

This is all camp ground along the beach. There are a lot of covered areas, papalas that people can put there tents and hammocks under etc. We are not sure what electricity (generator) but there were lights.
There was also music playing through some kind of pa system till about 4 am. Some kind of rap, techno, and oldies in English and Spanish??? No peace!
On our way out of Bahia De Maruata.
Back in there is where s\v Elegant'sea was anchored.

Moving out and North.
Once we got past the major point (this was not it) the seas got kinder for a lot of or passage to Punta Cabeza Negra, till we go close to the point we need to round to anchor then they got a bit nasty again.
