Debbie is making us a sunbrella caprail cover - 2019

Debbie is making a caprail cover to keep the sun off it
during hurricane season here in the topics.

August 2019 -We are currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
The caprail cover is being made from some Sunbrella fabric we had that was used as deck shade. We had put it on the life lines but we have come to realize we do not need it in the summer when we have used it.

The 2" clips seem to work pretty well - we had tried a narrower clip yet it wasn't as tight.
 Still a work in progress.

Debbie up on the bow sizing and fitting the cover.

We used PVC pipe as clamps.
Ronnie and Tony, friends of ours who live in Bucerias did the cutting of the PVC. It is cut at 2" intervals. So each piece is 2" wide and is cut from 2" pvc. We purchased 3 pieces of 2" pvc at 4' lengths so it would fit in our car.  We ended up with about 15 pieces per 4' length. They have a shop  with a table saw and chop saw etc. That was about the right amount for us. It is the thin walled pvc and we only cut a slice in it and it clamped well.
 Debbie working away.
It is probably 85% humidity and 85 deg and feels like a wet 100 deg😰

 Coming along.
