This Samson floating Ultra Blue Three-Strand Line is going to be for our stern
anchor. We have a small fishing net buoy that we use 35' of - this 1\4" line with the fishing buoy works good.
We have never stern anchored in depths over 35' with the stern anchor. Even if the tidal swing pulled the fishing buoy with the line underwater, there is not enough buoyancy to dislodge the Fortress FX-16 stern anchor between the line and buoy. In the past we have used fenders and larger floaty line but they can dislodge the stern anchor in the right conditions.
To the right is our small fishing net buoy with a larger floaty line on it.
We are replacing that line with the smaller Ultra Blue Three-Strand Line. It will still be strong enough to help dislodge the Fortres FX-16 stern anchor if need be and tells us if the anchor has dragged and also tells other boaters there is a stern anchor at that spot.
Note:Debbie is going to visit the US for her birthday. She will be seeing her sister and our brother-in-law and our daughter grandson and sun-in-law. Also Debbie will bring back our solid boom vang and some small items. She will not be using any checked luggage but for the boom vang so items need to fit in the carry-on or boom vang box.
