Our Ocean Malibu Two kayak gets new seat tabs, a couple removed etc - 2018

As "Mike Rowe" from Dirty Jobs would say, Safety third" but I do have my safety glasses on. Do not try this at home😎
April 2018 - s\v Elegant'sea is currently in Paradise Village Marina in Banderas Bay Mexico (by Puerto Vallarta)
This is one of the culprits that is hitting our cap rail on the way up onto our boats' kayak racks.
Here are the two brackets that will get cut off.
Now to cut these suckers off!
Big (cutting) tool for a small space!
Other side done, Yay!
Hi-tech tool for pounding down the rivets and pushing them through.
Debbie better not be looking as these are the galley scissors😈
Now to fix the holes.
Used the cut off tool to slice a piece of plastic from the hatch cutout leftovers.
There are some videos on Youtube on how to do this.
Just a flat head screw driver and a heat gun, add needle nose pliers. A knife also helps.

We noticed on the new Ocean Kayak Malibu Two the aft seat has two tabs on the outside that the seats we have connect to. We do not have those tabs, yet.
We borrowed a rivet gun from "s\v Due West" and it worked just great to put on the new tabs that match the ones on the new Ocean Kayak Malibu Two
Before my seat, the rear or stern seat was always slipping and not holding it's position. I would connect the back of the seat to the strap running across the stern, not a good spot.
The seats that came with our used Ocean Kayak Malibu Two are simple rubber - "get-to- shore" type of seats. We purchased nice seats for tooling around.
New tab installed on each side.
Now to fit nice seat that we had purchased some time ago.
Yep, fits good. Holds it's position and my knees do not stick up so high.
That means the paddle will work over them nicely.

Looking good, like a new one!
Now Debbie's seat worked great before. It has two positions.
One for two people and then move it back to a different spot for one person.
 Debbie liking the fun.
We really like our Ocean Kayak Malibu Two kayak. It handles really nicely and does well in bad sea conditions. It is easy to jump out of when doing a beach landing and into when leaving the beach. It tracks well and we have used it to stern anchor s\v Elegant'sea making that an easy job and fun. It is always ready to go and can take a beating.
