Mermaid 12000 BTU HVAC epic journey to the US and back - Part 4 The trip back to Mexico - 2017

and crossed the boarder at 6:00 AM and it was still dark!

No problem going across the US\Mexican boarder other than trying to figure out the roads and boarder entry signs like "Wait for attendant" and no one shows up so we motor on etc. But all went well and the sun came up on a beautiful day and the stress was gone from most of our trip as all that was left was the drive south to Mazatlán.😎
In case you missed the other parts!
HVAC Epic Journey Part 3
December 2017 -  Tied up in the El Cid Marina  Mexico

We had Dinner at nearby Carl's Jr because of convenience.
Funky quesadilla tacos at parking lot food truck where I had a late snack 😛.
Construction was the name of the trip from the US border down to the end of the State of Sonora Mexico. This pic is a little out of focus because we were driving by.
Lots of trucks. Here we are on the new cement hwy.
Well one of the two halves. We drive on the one side which is two lanes for about 20 miles then switch over to an old asphalt side which is two lanes.  This goes on and on. We needed to be very careful to watch out for cars passing and coming at us in our lane!
Work water truck. One of the reasons for only driving during the day (which we did) was to avoid poorly marked speed bumps (Toppe's) and cows etc.
We or I did hit one speed bump with our fully loaded VW Jetta and that means we were about at our weight limit wih cargo in the car. We were coming around a slow bend and bam! hit the speed bump and I was going at least 50 mph. The VW took it like a champ and we kept rolling. No signs or warnings. A bit later there was a sign of people crossing ad more speed bumps but we were ready as there was a warning. Other wise all was well.
Once we got a ways south of Guaymas Mexico the landscape started to green up.
From the  Baja California Peninsula over to Guaymas Mexico and down a bit the area has special laws for US citizens. An example is you can keep your US plated car here for extended periods of time.  Once south of Guaymas Mexico the laws are the same for everyone. In other words US citizens need to follow the laws Mexican citizens do. Hence Real Mexico.
Starting to green up!

Yep, construction ahead.
Typical road. It will sure be nice when it is done!
Did we say lots of trucks?
We stayed the second night at the Booye Hotel hotel in Navojoa.
It was a nice boutique-type hotel. The room seemed a little loud as you could hear talking in the next room over. The breakfast was Ok but if you wanted eggs then you needed to pay for them. The fruit, yogurt cereal etc were free.
Trucks at the toll booth.
We stopped for something to eat at VIPS in Ciudad Obregon.
We stayed in this town on the way up to the USA in July yet decided to head another hour south to Navojoa Mexico and stay there.
We stayed at the  Sleep Inn Mazatlán which is more
of a business hotel and we were the only gringos again.
We took a room on the back side away from the railroad tracks to avoid the train whistle.
We have stayed there before and it is well priced and clean, cool with a good free breakfast and close to the Plaza Galarias Shopping Mall  where there is a food court, Starbucks, VIP Movies and where we store the boat at Mazatlán, Mexico. We put the boat back together so we could sleep on s\v Elegant'sea which took a couple\few days. Then home sweet home and time for 12000 btu HVAC installation!
