Mermaid 12000 BTU HVAC epic journey to the US and back - Part 3 re-packing, velcro. painting - 2017

Sitting at our last house sit after we picked it up from Mike and Holly on s\v Wanuskewin

We have been storing it at their garage. We picked the HVAC a day or so ago and now it is in our house sit garage. Mike and Holly also just sold their boat  s\v Wanuskewin. Looks like it might be a while before they get another boat and cruising kitty 😢

In case you missed the other parts!
November 2017 - Tied up in Marina Mazatlán, Mexico
We are currently house sitting in University Heights, San Diego CA
We drove it here in the trunk of our VW Jetta and in the box it takes up a lot of space. We brought it up to the US in a plastic tub and that's what we will bring it back to Mexico in because of the space savings. We have a lot of other goodies to bring back with us.
The box with the 12000 btu Mermaid Marine Air  HVAC in it takes up way too much room in our VW Jetta trunk. We will put it back in the plastic tub for return trip to Mazatlán Mexico.
Here I am cleaning the HVAC unit and will do some wire brushing and painting later.

Went to the Dollar Tree and picked up some Velcro.
As originally purchased the Mermaid Marine Air 12000 had only Velcro on the sides to hold the filter. We decided it would be nicer for us putting on the filter after cleaning if the Velcro was on the top and bottom also; So we made that happen 😐
Did some touch up paint on some minor rust spots with flat black Rust-Oleum paint.
The Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu HVAC unit is in this plastic tub
and we back filled the tub with "boat stuff".
The "plastic tub" will go on top of the Debbie's purple yoga mat.
The box it came it took up way too much space.
The Mermaid Marine Air 12000 btu HVAC weighs in at 86 lbs.by itself.
Trunck packed in the VW Jetta.
This is the back seat and it is full also.
And yet another item checked off the US to-do-list for the next cruising season on s\v Elegant'sea!
